By now, you probably noticed that we really like you to know that eating our Vegan Fisherman plant-based fishies is great for all animal fish in the world. But don't overlook the fact that regularly adding our fish substitutes to your plate is equally wonderful for you and your health, too. Here is why:
High protein level
Protein is hugely important for us: it is good for our muscles, bones, skin, and many vital functions. Paying close attention to your protein intake is, therefore, always a smart idea. The high protein level in fish is one of the reasons why eating fish is recommended. But our Vegan Fisherman plant-based fish substitutes, made from NON-GMO rice (i.e. not genetically modified rice), are equally nutrient-rich and get very close to the high protein level of animal fish!
Omega 3, 6, and 9
Why the hype around omegas? Well, because our brain benefits greatly from getting our omega fix! And our heart and blood vessels also do well if we ensure a healthy cholesterol level. We can do so by consuming sufficient omega fatty acids or 'omegas', among other things. Our vision and our skin, too, benefit from a generous intake of omega 3, 6 ,and 9. As well as several more important processes in our bodies. So when we developed Vegan Visboer products, we made sure to include those omegas to get them to animal fish levels - and we actually made it better!
Similar nutritional values as fish - yet better
Back in the days, when eating animals was still cool, animal fish was always considered to be one of the most important sources of omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids. This changed when it became known that omegas actually do not come from the fish, but from what fish eat that makes this food so omega-rich: yup, algae. So, we cultivated the best, cleanest algae to add to our plant-based fish products. Much better for both the fish and for you. One, because, we don't steal food from the fish. But more importantly for your health: our algae are superclean and do not contain metals, microplastics or other nasty things that you would ingest when eating things that come from the sea.
